General: Brock has continually developed into one of the nation's truly tenacious defenders, having paced the Buffs with 100+ tackles over each of the past two seasons to earn all-America honors. In 2006, he became the first WTAMU football player since 1995 to be named a first-team all-America by more than one national organization. 2007: Brock recorded his second-consecutive season of 100+ tackles, recording a team-high 100 (47 solo, 53 assisted) to go with 14 tackles for loss (minus-70 yards), two-and-a-half sacks (minus-24 yards) and a pair of interceptions. Additionally, he had 10 QB hurries, eight pass breakups, forced four fumbles, recovered three fumbles (returning them for 26 yards) and blocked on kick. Twice named as LSC Defensive Player of the Week, at season's end, Brock was honored as LSC Linebacker of the Year, first-team all-LSC, plus earned all-America honors from the Associated Press (second team), D2Football.com (second team) and Don Hansen's Football Gazette (third team). 2006: Brock developed into an all-America-caliber performer by leading the Buffs in tackles for loss (11.5), sacks (4), quarterback hurries (4) and forced fumbles (3), while posting 10+ tackle performances on five different occasions. Those numbers earned Brock numerous all-America honors, including Associated Press (first team), Daktronics (first team and the leading vote getter among linebackers), Don Hansen's Football Gazette (third team) and D2Football.com (honorable mention). Brock paced the Lone Star Conference with 119 total tackles (and ranking third-all-time on the WT single-season chart), including 42 solo stops. He earned National Player of the Week honors (D2Football.com) following a career-high 20 tackles against Northeastern State on Sept. 23. He also registered 11 stops against Midwestern State, made 13 tackles and two sacks against Eastern New Mexico and collected a pair of sacks against Angelo State. He tallied a team-high 11 stops during WT's playoff appearance against Chadron State. For the season, Brock garnered first team all-LSC and first team Football Gazette all-Southwest Region honors, in addition to being named first team Academic all-LSC. 2005: Brock played in 11 games, registering 48 tackles (22 solo, 26 assists) and one quarterback hurry. He also recorded six tackles (2 solo, 4 assists) against Eastern New Mexico and had his top game at Tarleton State, when he recorded seven tackles (six solo, one assist). 2004: Redshirt season. High School: Brock was selected as district Defensive MVP his senior season. He was a two-time first-team all-District running back and second-team all-District defensive back. In 2002, he earned all-South Plains as a running back. Brock also lettered in baseball, earning all-South Plains and all-District honors as an outfielder in 2002. Off the field, he was vice-president of Abernathy H.S. National Honor Society. Personal: His father, Joe Brock, was a three-year letterman for the Buffs 1970-71-72) and his older sister, Jennifer, recently completed a four-year career with the Lady Buff basketball team. Major: Brock,a 2007 first-team ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic all-District 6 selection, has already received his bachelor's degree in Engineering.
