General: Having earned all-LSC honors in 2005, Steward returns to the Buff roster looking to make a similar impact in 2008.

2005: Steward was a mainstay at linebacker, earning second team South Division all-LSC honors after finishing the season ranked fifth among Buff defenders, with 72 total tackles (35 solo, 37 assisted). He also had eight stops behind the line of scrimmage for a team-high minus-39 yards in losses and three QB sacks for an additional 31 yards in losses. He recorded on interception, returning it 52 yards, had five PBUs and three forced fumbles.

Junior College: Steward was a standout linebacker at Fresno (Calif.) City Junior College.
