WT Men in 10th Place after Round Two of LSC Championships

THACKERVILLE, Okla. - The West Texas A&M men's golf team sits in 10th place after the first two rounds of the 2008 Lone Star Conference Men's Golf Championships. The annual league event, which features 10 men's teams, is being held at WinStar Golf Course in Thackerville, Okla. Play concludes on Tuesday with final-round tee times beginning at 10:15 a.m.

CU took the lead during the second round with a four-under par 284 after shooting an even par 288 over the first 18 for a total score of 572. Peter Svajlen (-5) and Cane Shumaker (-4) led the charge to finish fourth and fifth, respectively, in the individual standings.

WT's Colin Cruz fired a first round 73 followed by a second round 77 to end play in a tie for 30th place. Teammates Roy Holdeman (75-78=150) and Jon Musser (77-76=153) were the next two highest Buff finishers in a tie for 40th place at nine over par 153 after two rounds. Another pair of WT golfers, Brandon Holub (79-75=154) and Geoff Phemister (78-76=154), are just one stroke back in at tie for 44th place.
