2007: Thornton started in all 20 matches for the Buffs during his sophomore season. His six goals tied him for third on the team, while adding three assists for a total of 15 points. He scored two goals in a 4-0 victory against Missouri Southern on Oct. 19, and tallied two assists against St. Mary's on Sept. 30, both to teammate Ben Everson. At season's end, Thornton was named to the all-SSC second team for his efforts on the pitch. 2006: Played in 10 matches, while starting two as a true freshman for WT. He took two shots, with one of them landing on goal. High School: Graduated from Pearl (Miss.) HS. Thornton was named Rankin County Player of the Year as a senior. He led the Pirates to three Mississippi State Championships between 2004-2006. Thornton was named first team all-State in 2005 and 2006, as well as second team all-State in 2004 and 2005. He scored 42 career goals and recorded 50 assists, and was named the Pirates Offensive MVP in 2005 and 2006 Major: Thornton is a Sports and Exercise Science major at WTAMU.
