CANYON, Texas - After collecting two wins in their final regular season matches, the West Texas A&M Buffaloes had two players earn Southwest Soccer Conference weekly awards. Sophomore midfielder Jacob Fynboe Jensen was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week while freshman goalkeeper Shane Tayor earned Defensive Player of the Week status.

Jensen tallied three assists last week to help the Buffs pick up a 4-0 win over St. Maryʼs and a 1-0 win over Midwestern State. All three of Jensenʼs assists came off of corner kicks. The victory over MSU earned the Buffs a share of the SSC title and helped them earn the No. 1 seed in the NCAA-II Midwest Regional Tournament, which WTAMU is hosting at The Pitch on Nov. 8 and Nov. 10.

Taylor again was a wall in front of the net as he notched two important shutout wins. The two shutouts improved his season total to a program record nine; it also put him in a tie for fourth in WTʼs records in career shutouts. His nine saves improved his season total to 53, putting him in eighth in WTʼs records in career saves.

West Texas A&M is hosting the NCAA-II Regional tomorrow at The Pitch; matches are at Noon, featuring Midwestern State vs. Metro State, and 2:30 p.m., pitting WTAMU against Ft. Lewis.
