CANYON, Texas - Senior captain Kenneth Christensen and sophomore midfielder Aaron Thornton have been named first team Daktronics All-Midwest Region, while senior defender Tomer Otor has been recognized with second team honors. The Buffs finished the season with a 17-3 record and a share of the Southwest Soccer Conference title; they reached the Midwest Regional Final before falling to conference rival Midwestern State.

Christensen, the SSC Defensive Player of the Year, was a force for the Buffaloes on the pitch as he helped freshman goalkeeper Shane Taylor hold opponents to 15 goals against (0.81 average) and allow only three opponents to score more than once against WT.

Thornton had a break-out year as he started in all 20 matches for the Buffs, scoring six goals - four of which he scored from Oct. 12-30 - and tallying three assists in his second year in Canyon. He was also instrumental on the defensive side of the ball, helping WT allow only 17 goals on the year.

Otor, a confident playmaker for the Buffaloes was a strong defensive asset for WT during his years in Canyon. His awareness and ability to create plays have helped West Texas A&M become a powerhouse in the SSC.
