General: Montemayor brings commitment and experience to the Buffs.

Previous College: Montemayor attended South Plains College in Levelland.

High School: Montemayor graduated valedictorian from Hart High where he ran for coach Eric Montemayor. He was on the state champion cross country team and participated in the American Legion Boys State. Hart was a regional qualifier in track, where he ran the 2 mile in 10:38 and the mile in 4:49. He received the Fighting Heart award and was voted most likely to succeed. He lettered all four years in basketball and football.
