2007-2008 (Junior):
In her first season with the Lady Buffs, Blackshear played in all 31 games and earned a starting position in six. She shot 53-130 (.408) from field goal range, 33-78 (.423) from behind the three-point line, and 23-37 (.622) from the free throw line. Her three-point percentage earned her a season record at number seven for three-point field goal percentage in a season. She averaged 5.2 points per game, totaling 162 points. Blackshear came in second on the team in assists, posting 74 total assists.
Previous School (Seward County CC):
Blackshear started all 38 games, averaging 11 points per game and shooting 81% from the free throw line. She racked up a career total 236 steals and 189 assists and helped the Lady Saints win the conference title and regional title in addition to finishing third place in the National Tournament. Blackshear was named to the National Tournament All-tournament team. She earned her degree in art before transferring to WTAMU.
High School:
Blackshear played point guard for four years for the Levelland Loboettes and was named to the all-district, all-region, TABC All-State, THSCA All-State and A-J All-South Plains 3A teams. She also lettered in cross country and track for four years, winning the district championship and becoming a regional qualifier (100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and high jump) each year. She was named track MVP in 2005 and 2006 and received the Character Award all four years. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

The daughter of Royce and Debbie Blackshear, Chelsea is majoring in marketing and has one sibling, Kelli Hesse (24).
