GENERAL

After earning multiple accolades during her first two season as the team's libero, Contreras returns for her senior campaign and will again be counted on to spearhead the Lady Buffs' defensive efforts .

2007

As the Lady Buffs starting libero, Contreras once again led the team in total digs with 869, setting a school record for digs in a season and averaging 5.83 digs per game. She beat the previous record of 739 set by former teammate Brittani Bell. She also earned the number-four spot in the school record book for career digs with 1,667 total digs. Contreras is ranked third in the LSC for average digs per game with 5.83 and was selected to the LSC all-conference first team. She was also named to the Daktronics all-Southwest Region second team.

2006

In her first year as the team's libero, Contreras earned Lone Star Conference Libero of the Year honors She led the team in total digs with 548 and in digs per game with 4.42, posted 20 or more digs on six different occasions and registered 30 or more digs twice. Contreras ranked sixth individually in the LSC in digs per game and was selected LSC Libero of the Week on Oct. 23 after piling up 47 defensive digs in wins over Eastern New Mexico, Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Kinsgville. She collected a career-high 38 digs in the five-game NCAA-Regional final victory over Mesa State on Nov. 11.

2005

Contreras participated in 105 games, while seeing action in 35 matches as a freshman, and served as the primary backup to libero Brittani Bell. She finished fourth on the team with 250 digs (2.38 dpg).

HIGH SCHOOL

Contreras was a dual sport letterwinner for Amarillo (Texas) HS in volleyball and basketball.She played both sports all four years and lettered in both sports her junior and senior seasons. She won the Amarillo Lady Sandies Female Athlete of the Year award her senior season and the basketball spirit award her junior season. She also qualified for nationals three times playing club ball with the Amarillo JO's.
